The Chaparral, published by the Town Council Board of Directors is a quarterly newsletter which publishes contributions from all residents and contains information about local issues and events. A calendar of events keeps people informed of activities and meeting dates. Contact any member of the Town Council to start your free subscription. Past issues are available online.

Sending articles for the newsletter:

Articles for publication should be sent to the editor, Karen Gardner, by email to Karen@vintagematerialism.com by the 15th of the month for inclusion in the next issue. Anonymous articles will not be published. Suggested length is 500 words or less. Space limitations may cause articles to be held over to the next issue or edited for brevity. Articles considered unsuitable for publication will not be published.

Advertising Rates: (rates below are currently being reviewed... check with any town council member for updated rates.)

Community, Non-Commercial Classified Ads, two lines or less: no charge - must be resubmitted every 3 months (residents only). Non-residents $10/month.

Yearly rates:

1" x 3.5" - $36.00/year

2" x 3.5" - $65.00/year

5" x 3.5" - $115.00/year

1/2 page - $165.00/year

One-time rates:

1" x 3.5" - $5.00

2" x 3.5" - $7.50

5" x 3.5" - $12.00

1/2 page - $20.00

Proceeds from the chaparral may be used by the Town Council Board to fund community events or other items the Board considers to be worthwhile investments for the community.

Advertising for Non-Profit Groups:

Recognized non-profit groups such as the fire department, TECC, Elfin Forest Community Foundation and others may receive the equivalent of one full page of advertising per year. This can be used as a full page, two half pages, four quarter pages, etc. The cost of additional advertising after the free page is available at a 25% discount.
